A single HSE Department was formed within the company’s Sustainability & HSE function on January 1, 2011. The HSE Department, which includes Business Support, Operational Excellence and HSE Governance Units, and is part of the Supply Chain function.
The team providing Business Support in People & Process Safety and Product Safety in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific.

Functie omschrijving

The HSE Consultant is responsible for supporting the needs of business units in people & process safety in the European Region.

• By working together with line & site managers, HSE and engineering professionals in Business Units, identify and close the gaps between local performance in process safety and company and best practice international stan-dards.
• Develop training materials and workshops on process safety including Asset Integrity, Hazard Study, HAZOP, area classification, electrostatic safety, serious incident investigation, SAQ auditing and supplier support visits.
• Lead or participate in the HS/HAZOP for new projects and key existing operations. Analysis methods and primarily HAZOP and Hazard Study, but may also include others e.g. Process Safety Quick Scans, Structured What-If Checklists and Quantitative Risk Analysis.
• Having a strong attitude for gaining knowledge of key HSE legislation, interpreting it and keeping up to date with relevant changing legislation , across a number of countries, regions.

Kandidaat profiel

To apply for this position you will have successfully pursued a technical education at university level in engineering. You have a minimum of 5 years experience in process safety in manufacturing operations. Process engineering experience may substitute for some direct process safety experience. To succeed in the role you will need strong interpersonal, communications and coaching skills. You must be fluent in English, spoken and written. Other languages are a advantage. You have a proven ability to develop and implement own work plan independently. Readiness to undertake significant travel (25%).

Selectieprocedure

After pre selection by Knowhow! a number of interviews will take place at AkzoNobel on several locations in the Netherlands. In a first interview round Mr. John Mul (Team Leader People & Process Safety HSE Business Support Europe. Also a member of the HSE Team and Human Resources will be involved in this procedure.
